Wow, so I have not been updating this thing like I should be.....let me write a quick note before I have to go to work. I am now attending God's Bible School and College (GBS) in Cincinnati , OH. God is doing many changes in my life and working in miraculous way. I love him so much. I am majoring in teaching and doing my minor in missions. I am taking 15 credit hours and working on campus in the dish room...with a bunch of guys :)... anyways I just want to let you all back home know how much I love and miss you! and I am praying for you. You wouldn't believe how God is answering prayers down here......I can't wait til He answers mine! I have to go for now but keep in touch...................Love always

Our weekend went great. It was so nice to have a change of scenery and things to do. The guys helped add new wiring for the Esperanza Church School. The ladies made 10 puppets for the 10 children in the school. We had lots of fun being creative and it was great to know the 5 and 6 year olds would love them. We made a cow, pig, dog, fox, elephant, pelican, mouse, bear, rabbit and lamb. They were so cute as you can see in the picture in the slideshow of Jalapa.

We were all thankful for the wonderful food Mrs. Sharen Rickenbach made. It was a nice change from the Guatemalan food, plus she is an amazing cook. The Lord protected us on our journey as you may know Guatemalan roads and traveling aren't the safest. Thank you for your continuing prayers. I hope you are enjoying the pictures. God Bless!

Day 2!!!!

On Saturday we slept in and then went to the bank to exchange our US money for Quetzales, the Guatemalan currency. Then we headed for the market to experience the culture. After we went to the outside market we went to buy food for Sunday. It started to rain so we all (all 6 of us and our groceries) crammed into a "tuk tuk". Then we ate supper, and played a few games, then prepared ourselves for Sunday!

We got to the airport and left around 2:30pm for our first plane flight to Texas where we had a layover until we left at 6:00pm for Guatemala. We arrived safely at our house at around 9:30pm here which would be 11:30pm there. We talked to our host for a little bit and then headed to bed because we were very tired!!

I woke up and finished packing a few last minute things! Then I said good-bye to the kids and got a picture with them!! We will be heading to the airport at 12:00. Donny is taking us. I will try to write later.....keep us in your prayers.

For supper mylon and Ashley came over and then we went outside and played with the kids...... The kids had fun chasing Ashley and I. Then Courtney and Zackie got a picture with Ashley.
Now I am going to write in Rachel's and I journal, finish packing a few more things and try to get a good nights rest for tomorrow. I will try and write tomorrow morning.....hope all its well Good Night...................<3Katie

So after I tried packing.........I am a procrastinator....We( Donny, Becky, Meghan,Courtney Zackie and I) went to the market downtown......as you can see the kids were enjoying their suckers. Now we are getting ready for supper and I am going to continue to "pack".

Today so far I have relaxed. I went to WalMart to get a few last minutes things for my trip to Guatemala and then took myself out to eat! (It was a late birthday present). I am staying with the Hallenbecks and enjoying my time here. They are a wonderful family and they treat me like I am their own daughter. I will be repacking my suitcase and then leaving tomorrow for the airport around 12:00pm. I would appreciate in greatly if you would keep me and our group....Ashley Bishop(my sister), Mylon Albright(my sister's boyfriend), Brennan Muir, Dustin Muir, and Sarah Roach......in your prayers. I will try to keep you updated as to what happens on our trip and put pictures up when I can. Thats all for now I will try to write later.

Today was my birthday! Actually yesterday but I am starting with yesterday. Ashley and I got up and started our journey for Cincy! We left around 12:45pm and arrived here(GBS) at around 7:00pm. I spent my whole birthday driving=( Oh well I don't feel any older..........
